This type of companies believes that its products high quality make it a superior product. Neglecting sometimes about the customerââ¬â¢s wants and needs. Sales Orientation Make the product, and then sell it to the target market. However as we know sales usually arent this simple. An effective marketing strategy requires market and marketing research. Market Orientation This type of strategy puts every effort to understand the customer and his needs. Market research is the key to launching new products or services, every single step. Jack Cohen started his business in a very critical period for the UK there where a food shortage after the First World War and a big crisis just got to its top Situation was very difficult! Jack Cohen applied a strategy of ââ¬Ëpile it high and sell it cheapââ¬â¢. His strategy was a great success because he knew exactly what customerââ¬â¢s need and so for all his focus is to make sure there enough food for everyone. According to (Kotler, Marketing management) marketing should be dealt with and visualised around minimum 4 elements, product, place, price, and promotion and in further editions of his book he added other elements to those as politic, publicâ⬠¦ I think Tesco have a good name and long history and that needs to be highlighted more and more, a good marketing strategy needs on top of pricing as well positioning the product and make it unique in satisfying that group of peopleââ¬â¢s needs, so for sibling a group of people and making a product to satisfy their needs and give it the price that makes them happy and promoting this product. Sale is the outcome or a result but donââ¬â¢t forget to make them come back by giving after sale service, where the customer will be secure and happy knowing he has been backed up by you the seller. Your supermarket or place of shopping, itââ¬â¢s not only where you buy your food supply from as well as the name that you trust and adhere to, as a business focusing on your existing customers itââ¬â¢s a better strategy than trying always to win more customers. Communication in Banking Sector Developing a proper communication strategy in a banking sector must be built in the context of the customers expectations. In the current time, banking organizations are no longer interested in developing better communication strategies that will serve their clients. This is because they obsessed with making money, and maximizing on their profitability. In view of this, most of this cooperation do not obtain their objectives because they are unable to attract new customers, and their normal customers run away from them, because of poor communication strategies. INTRODUCTION: During the current times, big organizations have a variety of employees who perform various jobs. The organizations employ marketing staffs, to market their services, and seek for clients. To increase their efficiency in communication, banking institutions employ company spokesmen to communicate their strategies and achievements to the stakeholders, to the government and to their shareholders (Bell and John, 23). Communication is an important element that determines the profitability and efficiency of a banking organization. A banking organization cannot attract and retain a wide customer base without initiating better and effective communication strategies. Despite these realities, banking organizations maintain poor communication strategies. One of the main reasons is their desire to maximize profits, at the expense of customer satisfaction. Trends in Communication Strategies: In 1998, Citi Group merged with Travelers, and this made them as one of the largest banking organizations in the world. The company formed CEEMEA, its subsidiary which was in charge of looking for market in Europe, Africa and Asia. The organization realized the importance of communication in a business set up. To improve their communication capabilities, the company made a series of reforms, and introduced high end communication strategies such as the integration of information technology in their business set up. The results were immediate; the profitability of the company increased by more than 100%, and the company won numerous enterprise awards, for their introduction of information technology in the banking industry. The company managed to outperform established multinational business organization such as Barclays Bank, and Standard Chartered Bank. Other banking organizations followed the example of CEEMEA, and introduced information technology in their banking system. In the case of CEEMEA, customers could access their financial details, through the internet. An individual had the capability of opening a new account with the banking organization (Mohan, 20). This made the organization to record an approximate number of two million banking accounts. This is the power of enacting proper communication channels in the banking industry. This is report outlining the effects of poor communication strategies in the banking sector. This report identifies the various needs of customers, and how the banking institution can satisfy these needs. This report identifies the strategies of competing banking organizations in relation to establishing proper communication channels, and thus creating customer satisfaction. It offers recommendations on better strategies, the business organization ought to implement. Effects of poor communication strategies and customers expectations: Banking cooperations will lose customers and fail to retain their existing ones if there communication strategies in inefficient and poor. This will most likely lead to reduced profitability, emanating from the reduction of their sales revenue. This will affect the objectivity of the banking corporation, and therefore give an edge to its competitors in the banking sector. Poor communication strategies will also affect the employees of the organization. For instance, withdrawing important information to the employees in regard to the objectives of the company, will make them loose focus, and concentrate on their desires at the expense of serving the customers. This will lead to poor and inefficient service, leading to loss of customers, and again reducing the profitability of the business organization. Poor communication with a corporation will result to a culture of rigidity, and therefore limit the innovative capacity of its employees (Bell and John, 33). The competition in the banking organization is fierce, and to survive in the market, it is important for the bank to encourage innovation. Lack of it, is recipe for poor performance, therefore giving an edge to its competitors. To encourage innovation, the banking organization must initiate proper channels of communication, and increase incentives to anybody who comes up with better business ideas. Customers expect so much from the banking corporation. One expectation of customers is honesty from the customer care staff, while giving information on certain services of the organization. For instance a customer might approach the customer care staff on the requirements of taking a loan, and how to repay the loan. It is essential for the customer care staff to act in a professional manner, and give out all the details concerning the issue at hand, and the expectations of the customer. By doing so, the customer care staff will help the banking organization to create a brand name, that depicts honesty and reliability. This is an essential element in attracting and retaining customers. Another expectation of a customer is a speedy flow of information. Customers might require certain information from the banking corporation, and to get the information, they need to contact the customer care staff. The employee might need to consult, and gather the information. This process should not take long. This is because it will create anxiety on the employee, depending on the issue at hand. There is also an issue of accessing their bank accounts. Customers require mobility in accessing their bank accounts. Their presence at the banking premises must not be essential, for them to access their banking account. They may need details of their transaction, or to check the balance in their accounts. The cooperation can device measures of ensuring that their customers can access their accounts through the internet or even their mobile phones. This will require a high degree of innovation. Solution to the Problem: One of the most effective methods of solving the communication problem within the organization is to adopt the concepts of open innovation. The cooperation needs to conduct a case study, and observe how successful banking cooperation such as Barclays Bank, Citi Group developed their communication strategies. The organization will thereafter adapt the strategies that are beneficial to them. For example integrating Information Technology in the organization is essential. This is a strategy that CEEMEA, a branch of Citi Group Cooperation enacted as part of its communication strategies (Mohan, 27). Another solution is to train its customer care staff on the better communication strategies. This is to impart on them the necessary skills required to interact with customers, and the various stake holders of the company. Customer care staffs have a responsibility to act as the public relations personnel of the banking cooperation. It is important to equip them with necessary skills of how to handle the various stake holders of the business organization, including the customers of the business (Bell and John, 31). The cooperation should create a proper communication channel, between the top management, and the junior staff. Managers of the organization should act as coaches and not administrator. This will enable them effectively communicate the objectives of the company, and will motivate the employees to work hard, so that they may help the organization to achieve its objectives. The Case of Barclays Bank: Barclays bank cooperation realizes the importance of effective communication in a banking industry. To disassociate itself from poor communication strategies, the organization has merged the marketing department with the communication department. This is because proper communication influences the degree in which a banking cooperation will achieve success in attracting and retaining customers. There is the department of internal and external communication. Internal communication has the responsibility of liaising with the marketing department to ensure the company says the right words concerning their achievements to the internal stakeholders of the company. This includes investors and various high skilled employees (Mohan, 49). The company has integrated Information Technology in its operations. Through information technology, the company is able to develop digital images of its services, therefore attracting new customers, and retaining the existent ones. The cooperation uses websites, and search engine optimizations, to make its presence felt. As a result of these measures, the organization has managed to retain its customer base, and attract new customers. Conclusion: In conclusion, the success of a banking cooperation depends on the superiority of its communication and marketing strategy. Without proper communication channels, the organization will struggle to market its services. In relation to this, it is essential for a banking organization to invest heavily in building proper communication infrastructure within its set up. The organization must re-design its goals, create a channel where junior employees will access their senior partners, and chat on the best ways of creating customer satisfaction. To create an effective communication infrastructure, the cooperation must move from its notion of profit maximization, to customer satisfaction. This will ensure that the staffs are innovative enough to come up with better ideas on how to further advance the objectives of the company. On this note, a company without better communication strategy is a company designed to fail in business.

The lives of millions lay in the ability of President John F. Kennedy and Premier Nikita Khrushchev to reach an agreement. The crisis began when the United States discovered that just ninety miles from the coast of Florida, the Soviet Union had set up nuclear missiles. On October 22, Kennedy announced the discovery of the missile installations to the public and his decision of the naval quarantine around the island. He also announced that any nuclear missile launched from Cuba would be regarded as an attack on the United States by the Soviet Union and demanded that the Soviets remove all of the missiles from Cuba. For thirteen days the two major superpowers of the world were on the verge of a nuclear war. The events leading up to the missile crisis as explained by Dinerstein were the long years of Cold War hostility and the revolutions occurring in countries of Latin America. The Soviet Unionââ¬â¢s fear of losing the race in the weapons department and Cubaââ¬â¢s fear of an invasion by the United States sparked those thirteen stress filled days. In 1960 the United States imposed an embargo that cut off trade between the United States and Cuba because it was afraid that Castro would establish a Communist regime. Castro was determined not to give in to the pressure that was put on by the United States and decided to establish closer relations with the Soviet Union. An attempt was made by the United States to disintegrate Castroââ¬â¢s rule with the Bay of Pigs Invasion. The United States was easily defeated by Castroââ¬â¢s army. His victory during the Bay of Pigs Invasion asserted Castro's rule over Cuba. Most Cubans resented the intervention by the United States in Cu ban affairs. This resentment caused Castroââ¬â¢s supporters to increase in large numbers. With a confirmed rule over Cuba, Castro declared the island a Communist nation. Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev made the wrong assumption by thinking that the United States would not take any action when it supplied Cuba with nuclear war heads.

Virtually all of Edgar Allen Poeââ¬â¢s stories concerned themes of human perversity and involve the technique of ratiocination. Most critics believe that ââ¬Å"The Fall of the House of Usherâ⬠reflects both characteristics. I agree, in this short story a man comes to visit his friend Roderick. Roderick and his sister are very ill. Their house is falling apart and this man has come to try to fix it, but that is not what happens. à à à à à Human perversity is basically explained as human will and human corruption. Edgar uses this clearly all through his tale, One that sticks out in my mind is when Roderick Usher buries his sister,, Madeline, in the walls of the house. You can tell she struggled to get out as there was blood on her robe and she was not dead at the time he buried her. I consider this to be human will. à à à à à Poe also uses corruption in this tale. The idea that Madeline came back to life to take revenge on her brother is corrupted. Then when the Usher House falls down on both Ushers giving Roderick just enough time to get out. This is not so much corruption, but if you look at it in a different way. it could also be human will. Another form of corruption in this story is that all of the Ushers were descendants of each other, which means they were inbreeds. à à à à à The second characteristic that Edgar uses is Ratiocination, which means explanation of justification. In the ââ¬Å"Fall of the House of Usherâ⬠, Poe uses explanation at the beginning.

Failure of a Marriage Depicted in Ibsens A Dolls House Essay
A House in Ruins In Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House", the subject most important to the story is marriage. "Until death do us part" well, not always. Everywhere one looks, divorce is plaguing society. The treasured marriage vows have become nothing but a promise made to be broken. A Doll's House is a prime example of a relationship that didn't work. To keep a marriage alive and well it must hold onto certain qualities: love, communication, trust and loyalty. With these qualities, any marriage is bound to work. Without love a relationship would never even begin. The basis for Nora and Torvald's relationship appears to be centered around love, but this was not exactly obtained. Torvald doesn't really love Nora in a mature way; he just looks at her as another child. He has many nicknames for his wife including "lark" and "squirrel" which are small animals and used as symbols of foreshadowing. By using these symbols, Torvald looks at his wife as being smaller than himself and therefore easy to control. He always refers to Nora as my something. "Is that my little lark twittering out there?" and "Is it my little squirrel bustling about?" (438) He emphasizes the Ãâmy' which makes him think that he owns his wife and he is in control of her. Calling his wife names such as Ãâskylark', Ãâsquirrel', and Ãâspendthrift', Torvald does not love his wife with the respect and sensitivity a man should. He gives Nora an allowance but thinks she spends it frivolously. "What are little people called that are always wasting money? It's a sweet little spendthrift. One would hardly believe how expensive such little persons are" (439) Here, Nora is referred to as a small subordinate creature once again. Torvald is so concerned about... ... for his wife. Nora and Torvald's marriage fails because they lack in all of the qualifications for a successful marriage and because of Torvald's control over his family. Before Nora leaves, she tells Torvald, "But our home has been nothing but a playroom. I have been your doll-wife, just as at home I was papa's doll-child; and here the children have been my dolls. I thought it great fun when you played with me, just as they thought it great fun when I played with them. That is what our marriage has been, Torvald." (491) Nora wants change. The Alternate Ending to the Monkeys Paw
The monkeys paw The old delusional lady snatched the paw away from his grasp, mumbling excitedly to herself she held the paw tight and said fiercely ââ¬ËI wish my son alive again. ââ¬â¢ She frequently repeated it over and over until it became a jumbled chant; when suddenly a slow but insistent knock rang through the desolate house. Mrs White leapt up at the first sluggish rap, ââ¬ËMy boy, my boy is finally here! ââ¬â¢ she cried repeatedly fixing her dishevelled hair combing her hands through the straggle and fixing an almost hysterical smile upon her withered face ââ¬ËOh do come meet our boy darling, I forgot that the cemetery is two miles from hereâ⬠¦ and her chatter continued to herself, making imaginary plans, hauling on her best gloves and fur lined coat, she strode down the stairs with an air of excitement and bliss. Mr White stood at the space where his wife had been standing, and absent minded picked up the withered paw that had been discarded onto the floor , he gasped and remembered the face in the fire that he had seen on the night the major had been to visit him, the day that he had greedily wished for two hundred pounds; and unfortunately got it.Coming back to his senses he rushed down the stairs after his wife to find her struggling with the large ebony bolt secrured firmly in place. ââ¬ËHelp me with the bolt; itââ¬â¢s too heavy. ââ¬â¢ She said. Instead of helping the old woman, he tried tug her away from the vast bolt but she nudged me with such power that Mr White was hurled to the other side of the parler, causing him to knock his head on the mantle piece and observe his abberant wife throw open the door,turn pale with shock and recoil in disgust and trying to close the door on the hidious monster that was once their son but was thrown against the wall as the monster barged in.The old manââ¬â¢s vision grew dark and he slipped away to unconsciousness. When Mr White awoke he sat up stiffly and stood up slowly, walking towards the now severed door, and bent down and picked up a delicate glove it was almost unidentifiable; he dropped the glove in disgust and walked over to what once was the parlour, Mr White sat down in his large mahogany chair and began to silently weep, clutching the wretched paw in his wrinkled hand and wished his third wish ââ¬ËI wish I was dead. ââ¬â¢ And with that he fell into a deep eternal sleep that someday we must all face.

Samayoa Professor Class Date Why do People Lie If you are truthful in a relationship, nothing hurts more than hearing a lie from your partner; sometimes knowing the truth may hurt even more, yet still, in the longer run, a lie causes more damage than truth. Mark Twain once said, ââ¬Å"If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything. â⬠Lying is not as simple as telling the truth versus falsifying it. It is deeper than that. It may well be about creating a whole new set of truths that only the liar knows of. Today, I reflect on an interesting topic: why do people lie?Four years ago, I tried to understand why people lie, so I have been researching and learning from my friends and own experiences. Lying is a constant action that is used in a daily day. So according to psychology today, much of the research shows that we tell 2 to 3 lies every 10 seconds. So, itââ¬â¢s about 9:30 now, suggest that most of us should have lied. Letââ¬â¢s take a look, how many of you have lied in the last 72 hours? Think backâ⬠¦ Have told a fib, or a big one? How many have told a little lie out there? (Raise Hand) All right these are all the liars, make sure you pay attention to them. (Smile) No, that looked good, it was about 2/3 of you.The other 3rd. didnââ¬â¢t lie or perhaps forgot, or youââ¬â¢re lying to me about your lying, which is very devious. (Smile) SHOW STADISTICS Lying has been used in the past and is not a recent behavior that has been adapted, as a result has been carried through evolution. Here we have Diogenes with his lantern. Does anyone knows what he was looking for? A single honest man and he died without finding one back in Greece. Also, we have Confucius in the East who was really concerned with sincerity. So let me talk about new deceptions we have been tracking. They are called: The butler, Sock-puppet and the Chinese water.Letââ¬â¢s start with the Butlers. * On my way, anybody ever written on my way? (Raise hand) the n youââ¬â¢ve also lied. We are never on our way. We are thinking on going on our way. * Sorry I didnââ¬â¢t respond to you earlier, my battery was dead. Your battery wasnââ¬â¢t dead! You werenââ¬â¢t in a dead zone! You just didnââ¬â¢t want to respond to that person that time. * Youââ¬â¢re talking to someone and you say: ââ¬Å"Sorry, got work, gotta goâ⬠But really, you are just bored, you want to talk to someone else. In order to succeed everyday, people have created an action, this action is called Lying and is used for different purposes.It appears some lie for no reason at all, while many lie with great reasoning, some lie for a cause, and many build a cause to lie. Let me tell you, it has been a fantastic month for deception and Iââ¬â¢m not even talking about the high profile journalist caught for plagiarism get publicity & better pay, a young superstar writer whose book involves so many made up quotes that theyââ¬â¢ve been pulled from the shelves to be known and make money; a NY Times expose on fake book reviews (Chinese water) to attract/gain publicity. Now of course, not all deception hitââ¬â¢s the news. Much of the deception is every day.People lie for many reason and some are: to save their face (example), Lying to shift blame (example), Lying to avoid confrontation, Lying to get oneââ¬â¢s way (Example), to hide information (This one can be used for good reasons or bad ones. Example good/bad), matter of habit or to gain attention. But can you detect a liar? Many people say they can sometimes and they are able to tell by seeing through their eyes, tone of voice or their body movement. Now that you have understand why people lie and that this action has been taking place since long time ago, I will tell you some of its benefits. Are there benefits on lying?Of course, telling a lie for personal benefits is always wrong, but if it can save lives or using it to donââ¬â¢t hurt someone else is worth it. One of the best e xamples of a great benefit lying cause is about the teacher in Connecticut. Now that you know a little about why people lie, you are able to be aware of many lies people have been telling in order to achieve their objectives. As a result, around the world people lie for different reasons, some can be positive or negative. All this lies are being used by people to create a buffer, because we live in a 24/7 connected world and we just want to succeed in life.
